𝘽𝙖𝙡𝙖𝙮 𝙎𝙞𝙡𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙖𝙣 𝙈𝙖𝙡𝙪𝙣𝙜𝙤𝙣 𝙧𝙖𝙙𝙞𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙨 𝙣𝙚𝙬 𝙧𝙖𝙮𝙨 𝙤𝙛 𝙝𝙤𝙥𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙨𝙤𝙣𝙨 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙪𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙙𝙧𝙪𝙜𝙨

January 31, 2023 – Rays of hope beamed the fully-functional Balay Silangan facility of Malungon as it opened its doors to Persons Who Used Drugs (PWUDs) who are classified as plea bargainers or traders/pushers.

Driven by the dedication of Malungon’s Local Chief Executive, Atty. Maria Theresa D. Constantino through the efforts of the Municipality Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) with its Focal Person Mr. Dollar Yen Son, the municipality persisted to bring quality reformation program to its clients. Hence, they partnered with JJ Valderrama Behavioral Management Center.

During the plenary session, personalities form the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA), Philippine National Police (PNP), and Municipal Health Office (MHO) reinforced the all out support they will be giving to these clients. They also motivated each client to make the most of the reformation program specially prepared for them.

For the coming days, Malungon’s Balay Silangan will serve as an abode to people who would like to get another shot in life – now equipped with sufficient understanding about substance use, life skills, and support system.
